Do patients need to download an app?
No. Telehealth runs entirely in the browser using the Amazon Chime SDK. Patients click a link from their portal or appointment reminder and join the video session directly. Works on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on both desktop and mobile.
Is the video HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Moonshot Clinic uses the Amazon Chime SDK, which is covered under AWS's BAA for HIPAA compliance. Video streams are encrypted end-to-end. Meeting sessions are scoped to individual appointments and automatically cleaned up after the visit ends.
Can I chart during the video session?
Yes. The telehealth session lives inside the patient chart. Providers can open the chart note, document findings, and prescribe while the video is running. The appointment is auto-completed when the session ends, and post-visit notifications go out to the patient.
